"The Piper" Llewellyn Piper
Female Halfling
Female Halfling
Circus musician Llewellyn Piper is an unwilling devotee to a powerful entity, yearning to break free from its influence. Its rat-like symbolism has tormented her, serving as a relentless reminder of her haunting past and driving her to the brink of madness.
Groups: The Eyes of the Beholder
Llewellyn Piper was a young halfling living in the mountain village of Hameln. Her family was called the Pipers on account of their exceptional musical talent. Nearby the village, there was a cult of wererats that had been told by their god to attack the village as a sacrifice and leave no survivors. The ratfolk obliged, and we're almost successful.
Llewellyn had been out composing on her flute. She stayed out late to watch the stars and fell asleep. When she awoke, she rushed back to the village to find nothing but scraps of bodies left. Having nowhere else to go, she stayed, spending days in a quiet village that had once never been quiet.
She began to hear a voice as she searched for anything to remember her family by. The voice spoke quietly at first. She couldn't discern the words. But eventually, it grew louder and promised her the power to avenge the wrongs that were done Here. She accepted, and with her new powers flooding through her, she left the remains of Hameln, leaving travelers to wonder what could have possibly befallen the village.
She entered the mountain village of the wererat cult one moonlit night. The rats could not be discerned from the normal villagers, but it didn't matter. Llewellyn began to play an eerie yet compelling melody. One by one, every man, woman, and child of the village was drawn out into the night. Llewellyn played on, walking down the mountain path, an army of innocents behind her. She led them to the Cliffside. Her song didn't falter as every villager went down, one by one, the side of that tall mountain. When it was done, Llewellyn could do nothing but laugh and laugh. But, her voice was no longer her own.
Afterward, the god, the same one who told the rat cult to attack her village, had its greatest follower.
Llewellyn joined a circus and introduced herself as only "Piper." After shows, she would lure audience members and strangers into her tent, only to be consumed by a hungry mass of rats (sort of like a sacrifice to the old one). The circus would soon leave town, giving her perfect cover. The voice had never left her head, and never having a moment of silence drove her mad. More often than not, she feels the rat God speaking through her more than she does.
However, she's been having dreams of someone else. Something was telling her they could put the voices to rest. She's taken off to travel and follow wherever the dreams may lead. Taking care not to let her god know where she's really going, which is to get rid of him, not to serve him.
DESIRES: to get rid of this god controlling her. To put the non-stop voices to rest.
