Altheria was a kingdom ruled by a family dynasty named the Malivors. The city appeared prosperous on the surface, but during its last century, a palpable undercurrent of uncertainty prevailed among the populace.
The Malivor dynasty hoarded Cataclysmite for centuries. This odd behavior and orders regarding the dangerous mineral unsettled the people. This feeling was amplified as the people observed the kings deviating from their usual benevolent governance, giving unsettling directives related to the dangerous stone. Rumors spread, and whispers of rebellion gained momentum as the citizens grew increasingly suspicious of the true nature of their rulers and the destructive potential of the Cataclysmite.
Ultimately, tensions rose, and the kingdom of Altheria tore itself apart in a brutal civil war. Fueled by the Malevors' increasingly tyrannical orders and the dangerous potential of the Cataclysmite, the conflict left Atheria in ruins, its once-great cities reduced to rubble, and its people broken and scattered.
The downfall of this kingdom was because the king's crown passed down from generation to generation was sentient and controlling the rulers. It's name was The Proprietor, and it had a secret goal with the Cataclysmite. When it saw the people unsettled by the seemingly odd orders it was making, it began a civil war to distract from its intent, destroying the kingdom from the inside.
